Hi I am running an evaluation of vmware infastructure 3 enterprise and i only have 1 vm installed. I have an ibm x3550 with 2 1.86 Quad Core CPU's installed with 16GB of RAM. When i create the vm for my host, it only allows me to choose up to 4 CPU. Is their a limit on the number of cpu cores that can be allocated to a VM. The vic client detects 8, but i can only choose upto 4. We want to consolidate some servers over to this server, but i want to get all the processing power available until that time.
