Windows 2008 Backup - VHD to ESXi

from the backup of windows 2008 I created a VHD file, how can I import it in Vmware ESXi 3.5?

I tried to convert the machine with the converter to warm, but at 95% always goes wrong.

The converter does not support VHD file.
