We have just purchased a Dell MD3000i iSCSI storage with 2 controllers. We have connected to two ESX 3.5 hosts.
By default, ESX 3.5 uses MRU as multipathing policy. If we change to Fixed, after rebooting the ESX Host changes automatically to MRU again, I suppose because it's the recommended policy.
In spite of beeing an asymetric Active-Active system (each LUN is only processed by one SP, I think), we want to ensure the use of a different iSCSI port of the Virtual Disk owner controller for each ESX Host.
Can we change in MRU the used path?
Does anybody use MD3000i in Fixed mode?
Normally in a active-pasive systems the policy is MRU. But, what is the policy in a single controller system? We're going to purchase an Hitachi SMS100 single controller system, can we work in Fixed policy?
