How does 32bit esx handle > 4gb memory

I am aware as to how windows handles 4gb of memory on a 32 bit processor. Is there a diffrence with regards to esx 3.5 ?

I would like to take a 4 way box thats only has 32 bit processors and use it with 4gb of memory or more with esx 3.5. Can i do that? will esx use more than 4gb of memory with its 32 bit processor?  Ive been reading up and searching but haven't yet found an answer as to how it will handle it.
