We have a client who is using a Progress DB running on Linux SUSE V10. We tried to vmotion the server the other day and it stopped the Progress DB server process.
We had been told when we did the design there would be no issue (by the software company) but now they are saying that VMware Vmotion does not support progress DB.
We are using 2 x HP DL380 ESX 3.5 Servers connected to a HP Fibre SAN. Progress DB is Progress OpenEdge Database Enterprise version 10.1C
Does anybody know why this would happen during the vmotion process firstly.
Secondly anybody know who I could ask to clarify officically if this statement is true
Thirdly is there any possibility of getting this issue resolved.
Would really appreciate any help.
