I want to install VMware 3.5 on 3 supermicro servers (all hardware is verified compatable)

I want to use barcelona chips, because of rapid virtualization that is supported by 3.5.
However, those chips are delayed until end of March. There is no way to get any barcelona chips before then. But I want to get my vmware servers up and running before then. So my plan is to use AMD opteron chips in the supermicro servers, and then when the Barcelona chips are released in March, simply replace the two dual core chips with two of the quad core barcelonas.
Questions I have:
1. Will I have problems when I replace the dual core chips with the barcelona quad core?
2. Will Barcelona supported Rapid virtualization work without any changes to VMWARE?
