boot from san + grub issues

Hey folks,

We've got a Dell Poweredge 1955 connected to an EMC San.

We're trying to configure the blade to boot from the San. A lun has been setup and assigned to the blade, and everything has been zoned on the switch.

The installation sees the 30GB lun that we've created and partitions and installs without problems onto it. As soon as we reboot it comes up with the GRUB loader. After entering the root, kernel and boot commands (off hand, I dont remember the exact arguments) it starts booting, and then comes up with a kernel panic:

Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on ??:?? (forget the exact #'s)

Any ideas or hints on what we're doing wrong?

Thanks,

-Ken
