I'm relatively new to VMWare so keep that in mind. We have VI 3.5.0. I've
got a VM that I need to V2P (it's an issue with the application not being
supported in VMWare by the vendor). The previous administrator (who is no
longer with the company) created a RAW device mapping to a LUN for the data
partition in the VM. When I V2P the server, I then want to attach that LUN. My
question is I'm not sure how to match that up. We use EMC Clarion arrays and
I'm fine with the SAN side of things, but I don't see how to figure out which
LUN in Navisphere corresponds to the RAW disk that the VM has. I was hoping
there was some way to see the LUN ID from the ESX server, so I can match that
with what I see in Navisphere. I've read a number of VMWare documents that
discuss the mapping file, but I'm not sure if this has what I'm looking for and
not totally sure how to extract that information if it does exist within the
file.
Hope I'm explaining this correctly.
If anyone has some suggestions that would be great.
Thanks
