Deleting Log Files

I'm running out of space on my /var/log folder. After having numerous issues with a cluster yesterday, I know have a lot of log files in this folder. Any thoughts on which ones can be deleted?

My understanding was that any numbered log file could be deleted safely (ie,  vmkernel.33, or hostd-7.log.)  So here are some of the multiple log files i have. Suggestions are appreciated!

In  "/var/log" the following have the file name, plus filename.1 through at least 4

boot.log; cron; ksyms; maillog; messages; rpmpkgs; secure; spoole; vmkwarning

Then i have:

vmkernel and vmkernel.1 - 36

In /var/log/vmware i have:

esxcfg-boot.log 1-4
hostd.log and hostd-0.log through hostd-9.log;
several TGZ files, "hostd-support.tgz 1 -4", all have yesterday date on them. Not sure what happened there...
and a bunch of vmware-cim-0.log through vmware-cim.9.log

Ok, so you get the idea....
