Hi,
I have an ESX 3.01 host installed on an IBM x460 server, its been in the environment for a couple of months and been running fine until today. A reboot was performed after adding memory, now the host will not boot up and stops at the following message:
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00[/b]
I've read some posts pointing at a directory path being incorrect or even hardware failure. I've opened up the server and reseated PCI cards, Hard drives, SCSI controller, memory, cables, etc and powered up the server again with the same error message again.
Any thoughts\ ideas?
Thanks,
Blue
