Hi All,
I am trying to install the esx server 3.5 on the Barcelona MP system. And the MP MotherBoard Information is as follows:

If I boot with the esx installation CD, the machine will hang at the command line, and the output messages are like these:
ata1: SATA max UDMA 133 ...
ata2: SATA max UDMA 133 ...
ata1: dev 0 ATA-7 max UDMA 133 x Sectors : LBA48
So I decided to install the esx3.5 on the Barcelona DP system first and transfered it to the MP system later. the DP MotherBoard's information is list below:

I installed esx server on the DP system without any problems. But it faild with the "mounting root failed" message. So I followed the instructions to change the device id in sata_nv.xml and it work. The esx server could run on the DP system.This is the instructions that I followed:

Then I put the SATA hard disk into the MP system, again the machine hanged with the same message as the esx server installation just now:"ata1: dev 0 ATA-7 max UDMA 133 x Sectors : LBA48".
I found that this question was asked a months ago. But according to that thread, I can't find the solution there.
