iSCSI HBA PATHS FAILOVER PROBLEM

Hi.

I have this problem: I have an IBM BLADECENTER, one of the blades with ESX 3.5 and a DUAL iSCSI HBA Controller, connected to IBM DS 3300 iSCSI storage with dual controller.

All this configured as follow.

Port A HBA - 192.168.3.60 > switch 1 > SPA_NIC1-192.168.3.53 - SPB_NIC1-192.168.3.55

Port B HBA - 192.168.4.61 > switch 2 > SPA_NIC2-192.168.4.54- SPB_NIC2-192.168.4.56

By this configuration I have four paths to the LUNS in the SAN.

Here is the problem.

If turn off the switch 1, emuling a break, the failover is succeed and the paths go through the switch 2. But, when the switch 1 is up again the paths still appears like DEAD.

This paths continues DEAD until I do a rescan.

This behavior is present on FIXED, MRU or RR policy.

I want to this path DEAD go back automatic to ON or ACTIVE when the switch 1 is up again.

The HBA is a Qlogic 40xx.

Maybe I am doing something wrong.

I appreciate your time.
