I wondered if anyone could share best practise or their experiences of configuring the networking of blades when used with M6220 switches ? We have Dell M600 blades with 6 NICs in each and currently 2 M6220 switches. The M6220 switches have 16 internal ports and 4 external. I understand that using simple switch mode, you can use the port aggregator feature to combine multiple inputs from the blades to a single external port.
My questions are - what is a good configuration for the Service Console and VMotion networks in this setup ? To provide resilience, can you still team the external ports across the switches or is this not worth doing ?
Is this feature officially supported by VMWare ?
Any other gotchas or must do's that people have come across ?
