I've done dozens of good VC installs before, and never thought I'd have to post that I was having trouble installing VC, but here I am:
Target: IBM x3800 w/W2K3 EE SP2, meets all HW specs
Issue: Hangs with an "NSIS Error" during the installation of Sun JRE. Also throws a Windows Installer error code 1722 into the Event Log. Sun themselves have a workaround for this error when installing JRE, but hasn't worked for me.
The details of the NSIS Error state that my installer is damaged or corrupted, but media is not the issue - the same media was used to successfully install on a server running W2KSP4&Rollup1
Known issue? Anything obvious I am missing? I am currently suspecting incompatibility with the Windows Installer version but I am wildly guessing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
