Here goes!
We have an ESx 3.0i server running on a Dell 1600SC server.
One od the disks had failed, has now been replaced and formated.
My problem is that in order to rebuild the RAID, I need to power down the Server and use the RAID adapter BIOS to perform the rebuild.
It is an LSI Logic type RAID controller, and as such this seems the only way to configure the RAID
My question is, if I start the rebuild, (keepinh in mind we are talking about \ vmware operating system!) will it destroy tht data on the disks?
Do I b=need to move the VM machines off the server prior to rebuiding the RAID?
Any help would be verymuch appreciated.
