I've recently appropriated an ESX environment which we will call this Environment A consisting of :
7 hosts
1 Virtual Center Server also the license server resides on the same box..
I have successfully disconnected those 7 hosts and have them now connected to my existing VC server.
I am in the position to turn Environment A's VC server off, however all the hosts are licensed via it. I've tried to "Edit" the License Source and replacing the Environment A's License server with mine and am getting the following error:
"Unable to change license state as the license server is not available".
Please keep in mind, my existing environment consist of 39 total host which are all running fine, I have ample number of licenses. I just need to bring these 7 to look at my Virtual Center's License server. Any ideas? There are running VMs on these 7 hosts. I have no idea what port these 7 were looking at previously, so toss anything at me to check.
