Copy the /etc/passwd and /etc/group files from your ESX server to the machine you are going to use as the mapping server

I am trying to setup an NFS share on my windows server so that I can do vMotion.  I have 2 ESX servers that will be accessing this storage location so that I can vMotion the contents on one ESX server to the other ESX server.  I have come across many discussion boards that say I have to "Copy the /etc/passwd and /etc/group files from your ESX server to the machine you are going to use as the mapping server"......How do I copy those files on my ESX server??

I am VERY VERY new to VMware and will need stepbystep instructions on how to do this.
