Hi All,
I'm having an issue with disk space dissapearing from our datastores when Clone or P2V jobs fail to complete.
We've had several instances of trying to P2V physical servers or Clone VM's that have failed for various reasons, The Issue we're having is that the available space on the datastore is being decreased by the size of the Virtual disk that was being cloned / P2V'd.
However when we browse the datastores there are no visible folders or files relating to the VM's which failed to create properly, so we cannot recover the disk space that was lost.
Presumably Vmware has either allocated the necessary space and not been able to clear it back down when the operations have failed, or there are orphaned files for the failed VM's somewhere on the DataStores that we cannot see from the Infrastructure Client.
Has anyone else seen this and does anyone know how I can recover the lost space? I've had a fairly lengthy look around the forum and google but not been able to find an answer.
We're using ESX 3 with Infrastructure Client 2.5
Many Thanks,
Paul
