Installing ESX in a Desktop

Hello!

I would like to install ESX 3.5 or ESXi in a Personal Computer, like a desktop or a notebook. I tried to install it in a Desktop. It installed. But in the first start, I got some "Unable to read partition table". (Similarly to Dell virtual devices known issue) It seems it was a hardware compatibility problem.

I found a page which describe how to solve a SATA controller compatibility problem, but I'm not sure about doing the same in my case.

Did anyone already have this problem?

lspcii command in troubleshooting mode returned nVidia Corporation Unknown device for RAM memory, ISA bridge, SMBus, USB controller, PCI bridge, Class (?), IDE interface, Ethernet controller and VGA compatible controller; and Conexant Unknown device fro Communication controller and Multimedia video controller.

Thanks for any help
