Hi, all.
I've just installed the esx server 3.5 and vc 2.5 on some of my servers as the following topography.
P.S.:
(1) All three ESX servers are Inspur NF280DPro with 2 Nic. Server console(vswif0) and VMs' port group are attached to vswitch0 on the first nic connected to the H3C S1024 Switch while the VMkernel is set on the second nic conneced to the IP_SAN switch. (2)The three ESX servers' server consoles, VC & Licence server and VI Client pc are deployed in 192.168.0.0/24 while the three ESX servers' VMkernel are deployed in 192.168.1.0/24.
Problems:
(1) I can not ping any ESX server from other machines in the same LAN or ssh to the server console (PermitRootLogin yes was already set) of it from the pc with vi client, even if I stop the firewall/iptables service of it. However, I can ping or ssh to other machines from each ESX server without any problem. (2) If I ssh to another linux machine in the same LAN from an ESX server first and then I can ping or ssh back to it without any problem. (3) If I ping from other machines to the ESX servers directly, I get "Destination Host Unreachable" error and I get "? (192.168.0.x) at <imcomplete> on eth1" with "arp -a". (4) If I ssh from other machines to the ESX servers directly, I get "ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.5 port 22: No route to host" error.
I did google stuff with hundreds of keywords like "ping ESX Server console", "ping vswif0", "vmware esx arp runts", etc. for a week without solving my problems. Finally, I decide to post my problems here with my poor english. I would really appreciate that some one could give me some hints. Thanks in advance.
